Six - MORE ON LIGHT
Alice was rather doubtful whether she ought not to lie down on her face like the three gardeners,
but she could not remember ever having heard of such a rule at processions.

"if people had all to lie down on their faces, so that they couldn't see it?"

One "paradox" that has been put forward by those who use what is called quantum mechanics, is the slit experiment where light is passed through two slits. Where the two resulting wave fronts meet, an interference pattern emerges. If the photon is stopped by detecting it after it has passed the two slits, the interference pattern also stops. Supposedly, this indicates that the photon has changed from a wave form to a particulate form simply because it was detected. This is not the case.
The idea that the wave was "split" is not entirely true because its moving ripple was still intact. When it was detected, the ripple ceased as the energy was absorbed during the detection. And unkown to the experimenters, the slits actually are downstream along the nether flow. The light waves move upstream away from the light source while the nether moves downstream toward the light source. When the detection occurs, it disturbs everything downstream where the slits are, including the delicate balance that allows the existence of the interference pattern.
Other "paradoxes" of quantum mechanics are also caused by nether acting as a medium between supposedly isolated locations.
Electromagnetic waves are polarized. The plane of the outward moving ring of a wave is at right angles to what is considered the plane of polarization. When light passes through certain substances, the angle of polarization changes as if the ring were rotating. In actuality, the ring is not rotating, but bending at the place where the polarization is rotating. Other phenomena also cause the ring to bend, such as parabolic mirrors (your automobile headlights), etc. So in reality, the concept of the ring is only a simplified fundamental.
The "ring" also moves through areas of varying density and nether acceleration. So the ring is always distorted and is actually nothing but a line of varying curves and densities. It has the following distinguishing characteristics.
1. It meets itself as does a circle, an infinity symbol, etc., so that it has no beginning and no end.
2. It's total momentum (the carrier of its energy) never changes.
3. The wave causes tangential "acceleration" at lightspeed plus even though the tangential velocity is much less.
4. It is a type of wave that moves "outward" at the speed of light to infinity unless its momentum (and energy) is absorbed.
5. When its momentum and energy are absorbed, they are almost totally absorbed. [Actually, when working with laser light, one photon can trigger a response to a resonant electron that is nearly ready to generate a photon. Both the triggering photon and the triggered photon emerge with double the energy. I suspect that some of the triggering energy was given up in the process and the practice of using one-second photons prevents this from being understood.]
6. When its momentum and energy are not absorbed, they pass on as any wave would do (waves pass through one another all the time and continue on).
7. Parts of it can be rotated, reflected, accelerated, refracted, and otherwise bent, but it remains a joined line with no beginning and no end. This was the reason the ancients considered the circle to be the symbol for the "Eternal" (their equivalent of a name for what moderns call "God"). They also equated light with the Eternal (no beginning and no end). The infinity symbol also evolved from this concept.
When any electromagnetic wave passes through a gravity funnel, as such waves do all the time, gravity draws them as it would anything with mass. This is not because the wave has mass, but because the wave is using Mass in the gravity funnel. Everything is the energy and momentum of the nether in one form or another.
Think of a swimmer crossing a river which is made of water moving at a constant velocity. The swimmer always stays at right angles to the current and swims at the same speed. As long as the velocity of the moving water does not change, the swimmer will drift along with the water in its direction of flow while moving at the same speed at right angles to the current. The swimmer will eventually arrive downstream but at the other side of the river. I am calling this swimmer, "swimmer one."
Now think of another swimmer, "swimmer two," who is attempting to do the same thing as swimmer one. However, swimmer two is crossing a river that has a weak current near its bank and a strong, fast-moving current near its center.
As swimmer two moves from the water near the bank and farther into the faster water, he is turned by the faster current so that his motion is pointed more downstream. In other words, if he does nothing to correct this tendency, his swimming angle relative to the direction of water flow will change. As he moves from the center of the river toward the opposite bank, from faster water toward slower water, his angle of motion will change in the opposite way and he will eventually be aimed more directly at the opposite bank.
This is what an electromagnetic wave does in a gravity well. In nether that is not accelerating in any way (constant velocity - a theoretical situation only, as it never happens), it would just drift along with the current and never change its direction. But if, like swimmer two, it moves from one volume to another of accelerating nether, its direction changes.
This principle has been used to show that gravity pulls upon light. During an eclipse, one can see the light from stars near the sun. It has been shown that this light is bent by the sun's gravity so that the angle of light from the star is changed, and this makes the star appear to have shifted its position away from the sun.
When accelerating nether is considered the cause of gravity, there is no new and different way to calculate the "bending" of the light that passes near the sun - and there is still "drift" to be considered. The light's direction is changed as it is known to do, but the nether's motion toward the sun causes the light to move over just as the two swimmers are moved downstream. This drift does not cause any change in the direction of the light, and the displacement it causes is too small to be detected with our current methods.
Gravity Lensing - More about the Electron Faster-Than-Light Communication Back
If an advanced civilization were to travel among the stars, it might use a strong electromagnetic wave source such as a neutron star to communicate almost instantaneously between planets that are light years away. This could be done if the planets were in the same plane of electromagnetic waves moving from the neutron star. The planets must be almost the same distance from the star, with one slightly closer to it. With both planets receiving the same waves from the star, the nearer planet could intercept the waves and stop some of them which would be between others that were not stopped. This would be done in a coded fashion almost identical to today's pulse code modulation (the way telephone lines and space probes send messages without static) in a coded manner.
The waves that were stopped would not appear at the farther receiving planet, but the others would arrive at the farther planet in a short time in a coded form, transmitting a message from the nearer planet almost instantaneously due to the near-instant ceasing of movement in the "ring" that is an outward-moving wave front.
By choosing a different star, the receiving planet could become the sender and the sending planet could become the receiver. Messages to and from starships and between starships could be transmitted in the same way.
Perhaps this is why SETI is not getting better results in its search. It is using an outmoded system to which the galactic culture pays no attention.
