THE DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION - August 2008

Last night I watched Obama's speech at the Democratic Convention.   His oratory was superb, able to easily sway the ignorant masses regardless of the fact that he was lying most of the time.   Good propaganda invokes emotion to blot out reason and fuel certain actions - and the emotion within the building (stadium) and throughout the crowd was thick enough to eat with a spoon.   Obviously no one was using reason to analyze Obama's message.   His attempt to compare himself with John Kennedy appeared to be successful insofar as the crowd was concerned.   Unfortunately, oratory and lies that people want to hear do not solve real-world problems.

As I listened to Obama and watched the crowd's response, I was reminded of an earlier time when an orator with similar talent and similar lack of credibility was swaying millions by telling them what they wanted to hear.   Like Obama he had the ability to hypnotize crowds with word and tone.   He started by telling people what they wanted to hear and finished as a suicide in a bunker after having killed millions and ruining his nation.   Like Obama, he was a socialist who wanted world government, a member of the National Socialist Party in Germany known as the Nazis.   His name was Adolf Hitler.
